Shady Creek is a well-maintained campground along the Mississippi River, offering spacious, level concrete sites and a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation. Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff, clean facilities, and scenic views, as well as the proximity to local attractions like Wildcat Den State Park. While some noted issues with bathroom maintenance and nearby train noise, the overall experience is positive, making it a favored spot for short getaways.

Great bike riding trails from Beautiful Weed park in nearby Muscatine and from Credit Island in Davenport. Campsite right off the river for watching barges. Biting Gnats but no mosquitoes. 99% locals in campground, very friendly but don’t use leashes on their dogs.

We stayed at Shady Creek, outside of Muscatine,Iowa. The campground and shower buildings were very clean. We will be camping there quite a lot during the season. The camp host, Gina and her husband are fantastic. Some of the best hosts we have seen.

We camped at Shady Creek following a flood of the river and the campground was wet and very muddy. Dirt had actually been piled up around the sites and created a very muddy situation. Not sure how we would have found camping here in a dry time. The pads were concrete but we had to walk through mud to reach electric and to fill water.
