Site F-03. Pull-through with W/E 50 amp. Patio/door side faces the lake. Not super close and with no walking access, but a beautiful view! Afternoon shade! Site was slightly unlevel, but we used some platforms and situated our rig to accommodate satisfactorily. We have a 37’ Class A towing our enclosed motorcycle trailer. We camped there to ride the Iowa Historic Byway to Keosauqua. (Terrible road) But the campground is very spacious, lots of shaded and lake Rathbun view sites. Two bathhouses from our location. (Though we didn’t use). Park ranger is super helpful at check-in and park attendants are very friendly! At least two sites to dump, one as a single pull-through and the other closer to the beginning of the park with at least 4 stations and at each end, potable water. Great idea to have so many dump stations and water flush outs as well as potable water. There is the swimming beach a mile away. And of course beautiful sunsets!

The pit toilets in M loop were kept clean and the showers were clean. It would be nice if the pit toilets were upgraded to flush toilets.
The presence of park rangers was nice to see. They were very knowledgeable and helpful.

We were there over Labor Day weekend. Last year when we were there, there was activities planned, like a lighted golf cart parade and a scavenger hunt for the kids. this year there was nothing planned and the kids did miss them. Hopefully next year there will be something planned for the kids. They really enjoyed the scavenger hunt.

everything was great, my only complaint is the bathrooms and showers could be a whole lot cleaner. All of them.

We have been camping at Islandview for many years, it’s one of our favorite campgrounds. The last few years there has been swarms of little bugs that are annoying as heck! It’s the only lake where I have seen them. They ruin our outside time.

Perfect spot for a group. Nice flush bathrooms. Large sites. The shelter was perfect for group gatherings. Large grassy area for kids to play. Access to a beach area however it was at flood stage this trip! Our electricity went out on one site any they fixed it right away. We didn't like the 6:30 a.m. mowing Monday morning but that was the only bad thing. We were able to dock our boats nearby!
