I love sugar bottom campground it's very clean and a fun atmosphere. 😁 this site was close to the bathroom and showers. But it's a pretty far distance from the beach. It was a nice quiet area though.

This was the best place we've stayed in the past 4 years. Very nice campground. Lots of trees, great view of Iowa river and quiet. Everyone around us was nice and friendly. It's just an overall nice and very clean place. Our site was level for our camper. The restroom/shower was a bit dated but clean and close to walk to.
We definitely enjoyed ourselves here.

Wonderful place to camp, especially during the week nice and quiet. I’m sure it will get very busy. Come summer. The off times are an excellent experience.

I love this campground. There are a couple of things I would improve if I were in charge. #1 I would place dumpsters in all the loops, probably near the restrooms/shower houses. #2, do a little better job of cleaning the shower/bathrooms. There was a wad of hair lying on the shower drain the first morning I was there. I did not see that later in our stay.
I will return next year. The value is great, the campsites are nice and the area beautiful.

I don't understand why the check in booth isn't open at 2:00 for the new check in hours. Don't seem to be inforcing the new check out time of 12:00.

Sugar Bottom is top notch! The campground and facilities are clean and in excellent repair. The staff are wonderful; very helpful and pleasant. Our favorite campground within a 2 hour drive from home so easy to access and yet still close enough to home.
