Rusty Ridge Campground

It was a joy to stay the night at Rusty Ridge.
We were able to check in whenever we wanted, so we got there early. My son loved the park and the dog loved the fields. We got to have a go in an ATV and do some of the trails. My son got to see how the combine harvester works in the corn fields, sit inside a tractor, sign our names in the cool airplane bridge and feed some animals. It was so wholesome and fun. Not sure how this site isn’t a full 5 stars because it was a gorgeous experience from booking to leaving.

What an awesome place to go the owners are more than friendly the restroom's are nice and clean. They have a nice covered area to take a break or eat lunch.The trails are smooth and fun nothing challenging they also have a few bridges that are cool and be on the lookout for the Bigfoot

Campground appears to be fairly new and is well maintained.
I paid $40 for one night with electric and water. Sites with sewer also available.

What a great campground and get away!! The facilities are clean and well maintained. The owners are thoughtful and truly want each camper to enjoy their experience. They helped us to move to a site closer to the rest of our party. There are several trails with twists and turns to keep you guessing and possibly a random Sasquatch to catch your attention.

It’s hard to capture in pictures how beautiful this property is. Upon arrival you’re immediately greeted with wildlife running through the fields. Pulling up to the campsites you’re shocked with stunning views of hills & valleys- in awe that something like this exists in central Iowa. Acres & acres of UTV trails to explore. Just when you think you’ve seen them all, you discover another trail, leading to another field with breathtaking views. It’s hard to believe people own this kind of paradise.. & they’ve opened it up to share with everyone else!! You can see how much hard work & effort they’ve put in to not only maintaining the trails, but creating new ones to explore.

On top of the beauty, this is also a very family friendly campsite. Lots of fun little activity’s to keep little ones entertained. A giant playground right off the campsites, basketball hoops, hillbilly golf, volleyball, bags. Not to mention the farm animals on the way in. We’ll definitely be back this summer, little one in tow. ☺️
