What Guests Are Saying

Riverside East is a beautiful and peaceful camping area with well-maintained sites, good facilities, and a great location near the river. Many campers appreciated the spaciousness and shade of their spots, as well as the clean restrooms. However, some issues were noted, including occasional power outages and cleanliness concerns in certain areas, but overall, visitors enjoyed their relaxing experiences and would return.

Site 5 was OK. Like the pavilion cover over picnic table. Easy site to back into. View of river below dam. Lots of Birds to watch on both water and land.

We liked the privacy of our camp site, HOBO 27. The nature trail was nice. We are close to Coffey County Fishing Lake too, fo those who like to fish.

Site 42 is a great site at the very end of a long row of campsites. It is a very large site (looks like it used to be part of a buddy-site that has been re-made into one site). Nice view of the river.
Because of location, the back-in is straight and super simple.
Biggest downside of this specific site was the placement of the power and water on the wrong side of the rig. We used our extension and went under our rig to hook-up to the electricity. As we were only over-nighting, we didn't bother to drag the water hose underneath to hook up. Probably wouldn't work with a fifth-wheel or bumper pull, but someone in a Class A, B, or C might be able to PULL into the site to get hook-ups on the right side of the rig. The site is certainly long enough to do so.
Campground layout is a little strange.

Our site was clean, spacious, and quiet. Had a nice view of the river as well. Loved the drive getting to the site once we were in the park. So looking forward to our next stay!

Very nice campground with plenty of space between campsites is what we like about Riverside East. The Vault style restroom facilities are cleaned every other day and were very nice.

We originally attempted site 26, which on the map looked like site 25. Site 26 is not on the water, but placed tight across from 25 and a little steep. We tried out 27, the first in a row next to the woods. It turned out to be a great campsite.

We stayed in April. Sites have a covered picnic table, fire ring and hookups. We were along the river which was nice hearing it flow. There was one fishing boat going up and down making it a little distracting. It seems it is a popular fishing spot. Overall, the campground is well kept the vault toilet was clean(so I was told).
