The camp host, Craig, was friendly and informative. The staff at St. Charles Parks, Beacon and Laura, were VERY helpful.
The pad was clean and large and all our neighbors were polite and quiet.
The train was LOUD.
The pump near our site, #7, was also pretty loud.
The porta-potties were well used and might need a more frequent pumping on weekends.
We felt fortunate to have access to the creek and the mighty Mississippi and the Katy Trail.

The site itself was in fairly good condition, with the exception of the 50 amp leg of the pedestal was not working at all. The 30 amp side of the pedestal caused the breaker on the camper to go off multiple times. We notified the ranger and he was able fix the problem with the 30 amp, but not the 50 amp. The firepit was full and we had to empty the ashes before it could be used. There is a dead tree on the site that dropped a limb on our tent during the middle of the night. There was a water leak within the park so water pressure was a little low. The grass had been freshly mowed.
There were lots of woodland creatures. We were visited by racoons, deer and squirrels.

Beautiful area tree's around the campsite for shade, away from the rest of the campers. First time for the grandson camping he loved it.
