Overlook Park

VERY LARGE SPACE. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE WAGONS OR CARTS TO HAUL YOUR ITEMS TO THE SHELTERHOUSE. LOTS OF SHADE AND USUALLY A VERY NICE BREEZE COMING OFF THE LAKE FROM THE SOUTH OF THE SHELTER!!! WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK FOR MORE FAMILY FUNCTIONS!

Very fun and clean!

The space could have been cleaned better before we arrived and if there were someone to call or consult would have been helpful because when we did arrive at 4pm on 5/21 there was another party going on in the space I had rented. I spoke with the people there and tried to show them my confirmation email but they weren't receptive to leaving until they realized that we would continue to set up our party around them. I tried calling someone from the park district to help but just got a recording, it would have helped if I could have spoken to someone.

Fantastic location. Great view of the lake, and amenities nearby.

Great place for our picnic of about 100 people. Everything we needed- the shelter, tables, fire pit and water on site.

Even with the rainy weather, the shelter house was perfect for my graduation party!

It is a beautiful shelter that is perfect for grilling with two grill options. We love to use this for large group BBQs. The views of the lake are a wonderful, added bonus.

First bring plenty of help to move things, it's a long walk from the car to the shelter house. But well worth it. We had bags and a frisbee game to add to the already volleyball and horseshoes, so there was plenty of activities. We loved as it got dark they had lights to help visit and with cleanup. Love to rent and have gatherings here! Thanks

It was a great experience. They accommodated us for our lateness as well.

It was a very bad experience . I do understand it’s nature but we rented the shelter and we could not even have our food out. There were so many insects flying around the entire area. We could not even set down. We could not have our food out or anything . The kids could not even play on the playground it was so horrible.
