this facility is not keeping up with maintenance of their equipment and buildings. The campsite we were in the thread on the water facuet leaks. We told one of the rangers last year about it and it still leaks. The sanitation station has the same issue. The cut off hose,s thread sprays water everywhere. Stayed for 5 days and did not see trash service. Racoons got into the trash and clearly having a party, The bathroom across from number 33 in Cottonwood Point is disgusting and needs a hot water tank that has been ordered but this was an issue last year. It would be nice to be notified when the water would be turned off for maintenance on another campsite. It is hard to be nice when you are in the shower with no way to rinse off because the water was off. This used to be a really pretty place but it is going down hill fast. The Corp of Engineers lock themselves away..far away from the campers and we never see them. I know short of staff is an issue but don't you think it is time to think out of the box and have some items fixed? If you call the Corp you get an answering service and they do call back though. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Beautiful campground, lots of open green space mixed with tree cover. Nearly all the sites are directly on the lake! Sunsets were amazing, lots of wildlife. Clean and stocked restrooms. 2 bars AT&T. Would definitely return! Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is about 35 minutes away, must see if you're in the area!

It was nice and quiet and we were close to the water, and had a shady spot! Couldn't ask for more!

Good access to the lake from the site. Lots of area to play easy to back trail in. Quit area. Down side is only has one small tree for shade.

We really like Marion, it's not far from us. Which is great for a short weekend getaway. Would highly recommend trying it out.

The area is quiet, secluded and private to allow for little interruptions from other campers.

We enjoyed the week, however, did not see any Rangers driving by nor did not see any county Sheriff's driving by as in the past. No gate attendant is still a security concern.

We were very happy with our site #30. Great view of the lake and surprised to see geese, ducks AND Pelicans in the lake together. Apparently, the American White Pelican is common in this area of Kansas. All of the bathrooms and showers in the entire park were locked but there was nothing on the website about those being closed. Could be an issue if you get a site without sewer. The loop with sewer was mostly filled but the rest of the park was pretty empty the two nights we were there. We would camp there again.
