Cottonwood Point is praised for its beautiful, clean campsites and scenic views by the lake, making it a great spot for water sports and relaxation. Many visitors appreciate the spacious sites, well-maintained facilities, and friendly atmosphere, with some returning frequently for the calming experience. The previous campers had left an unbelievable amount of dog droppings, cig butts and beer caps. Mowing of the site was overdue. I love this campground, but the condition of the site was very disappointing. We left the site much cleaner than how we found it.

We had a very nice spot at Cottonwood Point. Just wish the fish were biting.

The site is excellent for those that one to fish right at their camper. Bait shop very close to the park. Not far from town should you need groceries.

The site was clean without any snakes visible during our trip. The bathrooms were clean as well. There weren't very many fish biting where we were fishing but we found another area that had plenty! There was a shade tree in our lot. The covered picnic area and grill were VERY nice! Plenty of room for our friends/family. The only thing that could've made it better would've been if there was more shade, and the quiet hour started later than 10pm. All in all it was a GREAT trip and we're already booking our next reservation!

There are low hanging dead tree limbs that barely cleared our AC. Also, if you don't put the camper over the parking block, we couldn't open the awning. That was an oversite on our part, but maybe trim that tree up on the side that faces the campers.
the 110 outlet didn't work , either. The water was running out of the spigot after last camper left...had to "manuever" the handle to shut off.
Did enjoy the new table.
thank you.

Cottonwood Point, Marion Reservoir, KS last stay was without a doubt the worst camping ever for me and my family.
Dead animal smell when we arrived which I thought was likely down by the lake. Only to find out it was dead fish, craw-fish and shrimp left in the campsite grill along with other trash. I cleaned that mess. Then the fire-pit was completely full of ashes. Again, I cleaned that mess. The grass needed mowed when we got there. I mentioned to staff and all they said was we will have to see when your site is scheduled to be mowed. We were there almost two weeks and never saw anyone mowing. we left two days early because we had enough. I have cancelled my next three reservations for Cottonwood Point, Marion Reservoir, KS because of it. It cost $30 to cancel them all! I have been camping there for over twenty years and it used to be my favorite place in KS to camp. Our family usually camped in about five different spots several times a year. I believe that has ended. Guess I need to look for a new place to camp.
