Clean and quiet. The area is mowed and the fishing is good

In April we stayed for 3 days. I called the ranger 3 times asking for toilet paper for the vault bathrooms. None was brought to the vaults. In June during our visit the grass needed to be mowed, about 8 inches tall.

One of the very rare places in Kansas, that I could paddle my canoe without having to worry about being hit by a motorboat.

The campground has two separated loops and a boat launch. No showers. However, it is a smaller campground, and if you can find a spot away from people with dogs, music, and loud boating activities, you can find a piece of quiet enjoyment. Park is maintained, and French creek offered a great kayaking experience.

With the exception of 2 days I was the only person in the entire campground so it was very nice. It's a pretty campground but there wasn't a host and the dump station was padlocks so I had to drive to my next destination with full tanks. That was gross. However other than that it was a very nice place to be.

Off season solitude. The stars at night were amazing and we saw a white owl flying which was beautiful. When we plugged into the electric box and turned on our furnace it caused a terrible sound so we ended up unplugging and used our generator instead. Not sure what that was all about but it was strange. The lake is sadly low. But you can’t beat $12 for a night stay in our travels and it was peaceful and quiet.
