We rented Group Site 1 for our family outing. The facilites were great except that the restrooms need to be kept cleaner. The family enjoyed going out on the water with their kayaks. We were surprised that the area wasn't filled up considering it was the Fourth of July Weekend, although it was nice to have it quiet. It is a shame that it was underutilized, however. We would recommend Hillsboro Cove to anyone looking for a nice area with decent facilities at a reasonable price.

Nice, fairly level, large, gravel site right on the lake with a covered picnic table area. Electric and water worked well. Both Hillsboro and Marion are interesting little towns. Pop's Diner in Peabody is an excellent place to eat. We would definitely stay here again.

It was a nice weekend, and we found a shady site. My niece and her husband came and camped with us. Glad you had the sites that had bees marked off, so no one got hurt!

The gate keepers were very helpful. They were there to help anyone coming into the park to find their spot and assist in any way they can. After high winds they would be out first thing in the morning picking up branches. I noticed them cleaning road signs, painting trash enclosures and making repairs. They were very kind and friendly and would stop by to visit. Park was always mowed and kept up. Not all sites had water but was available. It would been nice to have water spigot at least in the middle where we camped so all could reach them. We enjoyed our time there and look forward to being there next year.

This is our favorite camping destination. You’re greeted at the gate by the friendliest people! The campsites are large, well maintained, and have excellent water access. We have a four-legged kid who camps with us so we really enjoy the large grassy areas for long walks. No complaints. We love this place!
