The wind and temperature were terrible. I know some never got out of their camper all weekend. Other than that it was alright You need to eradicate the moles as they are ruining the grass area there.

The check in was easy. The site was very clean. Everything was really good, the only bad thing was the weather and that is out of our control. I will definitely be back.

We have been RV owners for 32 years…Melvern is rated #1 in our list of Corps Campgrounds and we have been to hundreds. Always super clean (Thank You Volunteers), the lay-out of each site and loops, having laundry facilities, trails and paved roads great for walking/biking, having 50 amp service at all sites with 2 loops having full hookups, the pond to fish from the bank, berm or dock, friendly staff, and much more. Only 30 minute drive to Emporia, Topeka, Lawrence or Ottawa for a day trip adventure. Melvern is a 3 hour drive from home but well worth the drive several times a year to enjoy this wonderful campground.

Great facilities! The cell phone service was awful. I have US Cellular as a carrier and most of the time had no service. Sure wish that this could be corrected. I know in previous years this has not been an issue. Everything else about the campsite was exceptional!
