We have just started camping, as a couple of 3.5 years. so we thought let’s try the new tent out in the rain! We got there Friday night, set up just as it started raining. Survived the 35F night. Next day, we had 35+ mph winds. We explored the shoreline and chatted with some RVers. We were the ONLY tent peeps there, btw. It was too windy for a fire and smores that night, as well. It was 31F that second night. Woke up on Sunday, the day we were leaving and it was beautiful, of course. Ended up with a sunburn taking down camp. This camping spot was awesome, tho! On a corner, with lots of space for several tents. It has a nice, big picnic table, that we loved and fire pit, that we didn’t get to use. We were there early April so only the pit toilets were open but we brought our own, so it wasn’t that big of a deal. Overall, we loved the space at Old Town and will definitely be back one day!

We showed up. Someone was in our space. Ranger was nowhere to be found. Called the number on the security station they couldn’t help. Gave me an other number and they said there was no other spaces available and I couldn’t get a refund. While we were there (waited over 35 minutes on hold) my husband went to the restroom it was locked. I have never been so disappointed and am still trying to understand why I can’t get a refund when someone was in our space…. Good LUCK!

Services are fine, it wasn't a terrible experience, but we were hassled by a diesel-duel- belching-truck during $ extraction by a guy who made us pay for two nights when we were only staying for 12 hours. It's noisy: right next to a highway frequented by trucks. I recommend walking into the Old Military trail nearby and staying at that old abandoned campground.

Nice campground, little small. Camp host had a site but we never saw them in the 3 days we were there. A few stores about 5 miles away if you need supplies. There is a small playground there for kids and a boat ramp. Reservations are done online and were easy to make.

It was a nice smaller campground. Water and electric at the campsite all worked and had no issues.
