What Guests Are Saying
Minooka Park offers beautiful scenery and well-maintained, spacious campsites, making it a great camping destination. Guests appreciate the clean facilities, friendly staff, and recreational opportunities available, particularly the stunning views of the lake. However, some campers noted the need for more water hookup sites and improvements to certain amenities, such as leveling issues on some pads and increased accessibility to water.

Travelers Beware! Your reservation is not guaranteed! The local park attendant will not ask locals to leave if they are in your reserved site. We had just travelled 6 hours with kids and dogs in tow and arrived at our reserved Minooka Park campsite. The people that were there before us decided they wanted to extend their stay (but they reserved the 2 days AFTER our scheduled stay - but not ON the day of our reservation. They wouldn’t leave. The park attendant said these people had been coming to the lake for 30 years and knew how to “work the system” and that they superseded us despite us making a reservation months in advance and they get to stay there. He also made us park next to them awkwardly while trying to figure it out. After a while of this the park ranger showed up, we asked if they can just put us in a different spot which, thankfully they did. The other spot was not as nice and further away from the lake, but it was at least something, we were several hours away from anything else and it was 8:00 at night. Wilson is a beautiful lake so it’s understandably very busy. We were extremely LUCKY that another customer had cancelled that morning so we had a place to stop for the night, but it took a lot of work to get the park attendant and park ranger to help us out. So… be sure to pack your generator and fill your water tanks if you want to risk a trip here… you may or may not have a spot to hook up. Needless to say we will not be back.

Large grassy sites with great views of the lake. Easy access from I-70. We were just passing thru and didn't have time to enjoy all of the amenities here but would definitely return again.
