What Guests Are Saying
Minooka Park offers beautiful scenery and well-maintained, spacious campsites, making it a great camping destination. Guests appreciate the clean facilities, friendly staff, and recreational opportunities available, particularly the stunning views of the lake. However, some campers noted the need for more water hookup sites and improvements to certain amenities, such as leveling issues on some pads and increased accessibility to water.

The original campsite we reserved C15 was not as advertised. The aerial shows a big shade tree. Upon arrive there was a skinny stump and two branches. Zero shade for a tent. Luckily we were able to snag an alternate spot in another loop (luckily it was available). Aerial shots of current camp spots need to be UPDATED. Our alternate spot was next to a bathroom. Convenient but the smell was aweful. The guy did check it every AM.....but it definitely needs dumped/cleaned more often. However we had SHADE! I've visited this lake for the last 35+ years. It's will always be a favorite for me.....just some things need to be addressed more often!

We had a bad experience at Minooka park like many times before. The electrical outlets shut our camper down in the peak of the afternoon. Lucky I was in the camper instead of on the lake with my family. Our dog would have suffered again from the heat. The camper outlets need much attention for a very long time already. When is this going to happen. Maybe when a few people lose pets or maybe refrigerators or electrical components in the campers. I’m sorry but some money needs to be spent & the park outlets need to be upgraded. Some of the lots need to be leveled. Not a good situation. This needed to be said. It has been argued with the park corp of engineers for many years. Nothing is getting done. The heat coming off the plug in was so hot I couldn’t unplug my camper. Just waiting for a fire. Could at least change out the breakers. We go there to have a good family time but we always have to worry about this situation…. Please listen to this or at least check into it. It is a problem.
