The campground was in great condition. Our site was well appointed with a gravelled picnic area overlooking a pleasant river bank. Water and electric hookups were conveniently located.

I love my family time spent at Buckhorn campground. There’s no greater sound than that of children aloud to be children; friendships, games of hide n seek after dark, bike races, volleyball, baseball, bike rides in the rain and laughter singing in the air. All of which are precious memories.

Nice camping sights . Quite . Not many things to do. Kids have a nice playground. Wish they had kayaks to rent so you could ride the creek or lake this would be nice and some live music or something for adults. This would make it a super nice camping experience.

Buckhorn is a very clean campground, friendly staff and guests. Most sites are along the creek with great fishing opportunities. Will definitely come back here for a longer stay.

Traveling north from Lexington, take I-64 to the Mountain Parkway. Exit at Slade,
take KY 11 South through Beattyville. Continue on Highway 11 to Booneville, continuing past the courthouse to KY 28 West. Follow KY 28 about 23 miles to Buckhorn.
Traveling east From Hazard, take KY 15 North 9 miles to 28 W (left turn) through Chavies. Follow Highway 28 West straight and go 15 miles to Buckhorn.
Buckhorn Campground is accessible via I-64 and the Mountain Parkway. From I-64, take the Mountain Parkway to Slade, then KY 11 South to Booneville, and continue on KY 28 West to the campground.
