It was a very beautiful campground but smaller than expected. It appeared that campsites were being upgraded with concrete pads. The closest grocery was 30 to 45 minutes away and the beach was 20 or more minutes. I rained often while we was there and water ran from the paved drive through our campsite. The children loved the playground. The showers were clean and well organized.

We have been going here for many years as a family camping trip. Great location and several sites to choose from. There are plenty of activities that you can do such as fishing, boating, hiking, volleyball court, playground, horseshoe pits, basketball court, and close enough to small shops in case you need some necessities.

The Buckhorn COE campground was one of the best well-maintained campgrounds we have ever visited. The site, bathrooms and laundry room were spotless. Our only issue was that another camper had occupied our reserved site. At first we thought that since we had arrived an hour prior to check-in time that they had just not completed their departure. Once the departure deadline had expired we contacted the host and they found the occupant sleeping inside. The host graciously switched us to another site but we witnessed the other camper simply move to another vacant site. It remains unclear whether this individual had been following the reservation process.

We really enjoy the rest and relaxation of being in the outdoors. Such a peaceful atmosphere. One of our favorite things to do is fish. We love meeting new campers and making new friends each time we come. The camping attendants are so nice and helpful here.

We love this campground. It is quiet, well maintained, clean bathrooms, fantastic playground and basketball and sand volleyball courts for kids as well as access to the spillway for fishing. It’s our family favorite campground. Highly recommend if your goal is a peacefully relaxing camping experience.

Buckhorn is a nice, small campground. The bathrooms were very clean and everyone was super friendly. We sat in our campsite and watched turtles foating and fish jumping. Our cell service was spotty.

Beautiful campsite on the edge of Buckhorn Lake backwaters. Very clean, nice for family camping.
The camp host person (didnt get her name) was very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay!
