This campground is beautiful, quiet, and clean but above that, management is top notch. They are always on top of any situation that arises, especially weather. The safety of their campers is priority. This team won't text you with a suggestion about bad weather, they'll get out in it to come tell you to get to safety. This place has been the beginning of my rv life journey and I couldn't have asked for a better start.

Our First time camping at WAX campground but will not be our last. We camped in B section with our 44’ fifth wheel and were pleasantly surprised that we could actually fit in several of the sites. NO we did not have a lake view, but we were okay with that.
Site had water & electric, picnic table, fire pit with cooking grate and lantern pole.
Very close to CLEAN bathhouse and large playground.
Tyler, Amanda & Nana(Helen) the campground host, volunteers, management or whatever their titles, are absolutely amazing. You can see the pride they take in keeping WAX campground in beautiful condition and well maintained.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, if you have not camped here in a while.

We will definitely be coming back to Wax Campground because of how friendly and welcoming the staff was. We’re from Michigan and wanted to stay fairly close to Mammoth Cave, and this campground was the perfect fit. Everything was very clean, from the campsites to the bathrooms, and the entire campground was well maintained. Even during Memorial Day weekend, it never felt overcrowded, which made the stay even more enjoyable. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience and are already looking forward to staying again in the future.

We camped in B loop for 7 days last week and had a great time. The park was clean and everyone we encountered was super friendly and courteous. I did notice on the second night, my circuit analyzer was showing an "Open Neutral" and my power cord was getting Hot on the 30A outlet. I was able to get in touch with one of the campground volunteers who immediately called maintenance. While I was speaking with these volunteers, my wife flagged down a different volunteer who happened to be passing by. Within about 15mins., both volunteers showed up with a 50A to 30A adapter for us to connect to the 50A outlet. This worked great and we had no other issues. The next morning maintenance showed up to verify that we were still good to go. I was extremely impressed by how quickly everyone responded and I felt that everyone was dedicated to ensuring we had a good camping trip. There is a sheriff that walks around the campground regularly and she is incredibly friendly and personable as well. They also have a small camp store that offers firewood, locally grown vegetables, preserves, and much more. I like that they have "3" Dump stations, so if you have to leave on a busy morning there is little to no wait when leaving. They offer several water front sites in A & C loop that offer amazing views. We have been sleeping on Wax, but will definitely add this to one of our regular campgrounds.

We stayed in C11 on a Tuesday night in our tent with our baby and toddler. The loop wasn't even a third full and everyone was quiet and respectful. The bathrooms were clean and close. We swam in the lake, accessed just down the hill from our site. There was a great mini rock beach with a bunch of driftwood. If tent camping, plan to set up on the gravel pad and have a mallet or hammer for your tent stakes because the ground is hard. This was a great family friendly spot!
