Wax is our favorite place to camp. Nice quiet, friendly campground. Right across the street from Wax Marina and The Lodge. Beautiful views of the lake. We’re there every chance we get.

Power supply is lacking. On Thur when the camp ground was nearly empty I had no issues. By Friday afternoon I could not use my microwave as the voltage at the pole was dropping. On sat my watch dog shut off due to low voltage We are at the end of the loop in B34 and B35. This should not happen. It appears as more sites are utilized the end sites loose ability to use power as needed. The wire is not big enough to span the sites. We have one more scheduled and after that will not be camping at wax due to this issue. I cannot be on the water all day and not have air In my camper due to low voltage

The camp host we encountered is an extremely nice lady. The lots and restrooms were clean. The lots however are close together, as is typical. We tent camped and found only a few spots with shade. My lower star rating is primarily due to lack of shaded lots and closeness to each other.

Great place to camp if you have a boat and love being right on the lake! Also, be sure to walk across the street and get something to eat at The Lodge on Nolin.

Site A 6 is very unlevel and the hookups are in an odd place. But it is a nice campground.

The campground was beautiful! We had a great view of the lake and the sites and bathrooms were clean.

From Bowling Green, KY
Follow US 31W North from Bowling Green for approximately 14 miles then turn left onto KY 101. In approximately 6 miles, Hwy 101 becomes Hwy 259 North. Follow Hwy 259 North for about 22 miles. Stay straight at the intersection of Hwy 259 and Hwy 226; follow Hwy 226 for about 2 miles. Turn right on Hwy 88 and follow it for approximately 7 miles. The Wax campground will be on your right. Total driving distance from Bowling Green is about 51 miles; driving time is around 1 hour, 20 minutes.
From Louisville, KY
Take I-65 south for approximately 59 miles to exit 76. Follow Hwy 224 for approximately 10 miles before turning left on Hwy 479. In approximately 8 miles turn left on Highway 88. Signs for Wax campground will be less than 1/2 miles down Hwy 88, on your right. Total driving distance is about 78 miles, driving time is about 1 hour, 40 minutes.
From Nashville, KY
Take I65 North for approximately 66 miles. Merge onto KY 446 via exit 28. Merge right onto Hwy 31W North and follow it for approximately 10 miles, then turn left onto KY 101. In approximately 6 miles, Hwy 101 becomes Hwy 259 North. Follow Hwy 259 North for about 22 miles. Stay straight at the intersection of Hwy 259 and Hwy 226; follow Hwy 226 for about 2 miles. Turn right on Hwy 88 and follow it for approximately 7 miles. The Wax campground will be on the right. Total driving distance from Nashville is about 114 miles; driving time is around 2 hours, 20 minutes.
