A nice campground. We were able to get a rustic site for the weekend. Lots of boat traffic and noise from 88 but quiets down to a perfect calm at night. Campground staff are very pleasant and informative. We had a nice stay

Very nice campground. Only complaint is , if you have a large camper with slides on both sides, you might be a little close to fire pit.

THIS WAS A HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND THE CAMPGROUND WAS FULL. THE BATH HOUSE WAS THE CLEANEST I'VE SEEN AT A CORE CAMPGROUND, WE ENJOYED OUR VISIT.

First time we've stayed there, and we spent 2 nights. Campground and restroom/shower facilities were clean & well maintained, and conveniently right across the street from us. We eere in our square-drop traiker, and the pull-thru site (C08) was flat, with small gravel (nice not having a muddy mess to deal with after the rains that went through), and a sturdy picnic table, fire pit, and a pole for hanging lanterns, etc. Staff was very friendly, plus random patrols from the local Sheriff driving through the loops. Could hear and see the water traffic on the lake which was nice. Grandson took his ebike and fishing gear, and made the most of the nearby shoreline to fish from, plus trips to the local store down the road. Will definitely be returning in the future.

The campground was nice and quiet but some of the spots were terrible I recommend calling before u go to see how ur sight lays.

Follow US 31W North from Bowling Green for approximately 14 miles then turn left onto KY 101. In approximately 6 miles, Hwy 101 becomes Hwy 259 North. Follow Hwy 259 North for about 22 miles. Stay straight at the intersection of Hwy 259 and Hwy 226; follow Hwy 226 for about 2 miles. Turn right on Hwy 88 and follow it for approximately 7 miles. The Wax campground will be on your right. Total driving distance from Bowling Green is about 51 miles; driving time is around 1 hour, 20 minutes.
From Louisville, KY
Take I-65 south for approximately 59 miles to exit 76. Follow Hwy 224 for approximately 10 miles before turning left on Hwy 479. In approximately 8 miles turn left on Highway 88. Signs for Wax campground will be less than 1/2 miles down Hwy 88, on your right. Total driving distance is about 78 miles, driving time is about 1 hour, 40 minutes.
From Nashville, KY
Take I65 North for approximately 66 miles. Merge onto KY 446 via exit 28. Merge right onto Hwy 31W North and follow it for approximately 10 miles, then turn left onto KY 101. In approximately 6 miles, Hwy 101 becomes Hwy 259 North. Follow Hwy 259 North for about 22 miles. Stay straight at the intersection of Hwy 259 and Hwy 226; follow Hwy 226 for about 2 miles. Turn right on Hwy 88 and follow it for approximately 7 miles. The Wax campground will be on the right. Total driving distance from Nashville is about 114 miles; driving time is around 2 hours, 20 minutes.
