Always love camping at wax, I have met some of the nicest people at this campground, the host are amazing (the lush family). The grass around the sites got a little tall this year for some reason. The only bad thing about this campground is how early it closes, there is still a ton of good camping left after it closes. I don’t see why it can’t stay open like the other campgrounds. It’s very unfortunate that I don’t visit the lake after Labor Day, one it’s too hard to get a site at the other two campgrounds and the sites aren’t as good! Help me out corps and make this happen! Thank you and I’ll see you next year!!

Love camping on the water. The view of the lake is so pretty. Just to enjoy & relax. We have seen a eagle & otters. This is one of our favorite campground. People are very friendly.

The roads are okay but the trees in places could use a trim. The bathrooms were large and kept clean

We have stayed at this campground several times and have absolutely loved it! Spacious sites, clean bath houses and very friendly park attendants have made it one of our favorite places to camp.

We love this campground better than any we have stayed at. Everyone is like family. The hosts (the Lush’s) are the best to see that all your needs are met. I just wish this campground would not close after Labor Day weekend due to the fall having such good camping. This is by far the friendliest and best campground on Nolin. I think the Corp should really consider keeping it open longer in the fall. I live within a few miles of Green River and Lake Cumberland, but drive 70 miles due to the love of the campground and all the friends we have made here. It has been a great year!

From Bowling Green, KY
Follow US 31W North from Bowling Green for approximately 14 miles then turn left onto KY 101. In approximately 6 miles, Hwy 101 becomes Hwy 259 North. Follow Hwy 259 North for about 22 miles. Stay straight at the intersection of Hwy 259 and Hwy 226; follow Hwy 226 for about 2 miles. Turn right on Hwy 88 and follow it for approximately 7 miles. The Wax campground will be on your right. Total driving distance from Bowling Green is about 51 miles; driving time is around 1 hour, 20 minutes.
From Louisville, KY
Take I-65 south for approximately 59 miles to exit 76. Follow Hwy 224 for approximately 10 miles before turning left on Hwy 479. In approximately 8 miles turn left on Highway 88. Signs for Wax campground will be less than 1/2 miles down Hwy 88, on your right. Total driving distance is about 78 miles, driving time is about 1 hour, 40 minutes.
From Nashville, KY
Take I65 North for approximately 66 miles. Merge onto KY 446 via exit 28. Merge right onto Hwy 31W North and follow it for approximately 10 miles, then turn left onto KY 101. In approximately 6 miles, Hwy 101 becomes Hwy 259 North. Follow Hwy 259 North for about 22 miles. Stay straight at the intersection of Hwy 259 and Hwy 226; follow Hwy 226 for about 2 miles. Turn right on Hwy 88 and follow it for approximately 7 miles. The Wax campground will be on the right. Total driving distance from Nashville is about 114 miles; driving time is around 2 hours, 20 minutes.
