People didn’t abide by rules. All drive extremely too fast.
Driving thru grass to get from C loop to D loop.
Too many people on each site. Campers backed in on grass, too many tents on one site.
Just our first visit with out a host/hostess.
All in all, camping was good.
We were there 6 nights and never left the campground, and only saw a Corp vehicle one time. The lady that works at the corp office was very nice and helpful.

We like HolmsBend. Have been here before. Good setup. However, future campers need to be sure to bring an extra hose for water. Otherwise, good place to camp. And people should be aware there is a shortage of help and be prepared to take care of themselves somewhat. Patience.

We were on 84C and had the worst neighbors right next to us. They were very loud as well as 5 dogs chained to the trees. Putting it mildly they barked night an day. Even win the people left and put the dogs in their camper still barked and we still heard them in our camper. Found out only 2 were the peoples dogs and the rest company brought in, i can understand why the dogs were barking. Chained to a tree with no attention and no water bowl. Plus they ate watermelon and just threw the rines out in the yard. I could go on about these people but i think you get the picture very plainly. the camp volunteers did comeand ask if they bothered us. And told us we could come to them, the park ranger. and lastly the police. Just was a miserable 13 days.

During our stay, the (salaried) campground hosts resigned. We learned they will not be replaced. Instead, volunteer hosts will be used on a limited basis, which reduces services at the campground and changes several past procedures. We are not happy with these changes.

The camp site itself was good. It doesn’t have water hookup on the one we were at. But there was a public potable water source fairly close. It rained the entire time we were there. But the site was roomy. With moderate shade. The campers prior to us had dumped all their rotten food in the fire pit so it smelled and had nasty critters inside of it that I finally decided to dig out so the fire pit could be used.
