We like to stay at Holmes Bend Campground when we go fishing on Green River Lake. Sites 59-67 are our favorites since they have both water and electric hookups, are in the shade and will accommodate our motorhome, truck and pontoon. Hosts are really friendly, also.

Police presence is constant and excessive. Restrooms are abysmal. Campsites are in good condition.

This was our first trip to Holmes Bend. We were invited by friends. We had a very nice time with them and their pontoon. However, we were disappointed to learn the campground was a great distance to the waterfront. The campground was clean, well-maintained. πππΌ

The new attendants at Holmes Bend are rude !!!!!!!!!So many campers have been treated awful by these attendants. Holmes Bend has always been one of the most friendly places to camp but not anymore. The attendants are ruining it for everyone. They told our friends who dared to question a parking pass that they were sent there from Louisville to "straighten this place out" were her words. Myself or any other campers we talked to dont see any problems that needed straightening out. They always have a smart alek reply and then tell you that you can talk to a ranger who will also not hesitate to be somewhat smart. Us tax payers (aka campers) paid for this campground with our tax dollars. We pay to rent lots and are treated like common criminals by these new attendants. One lady we talked to had a handicapped scooter and had the necessary "placard" for her scooter. That wasnt good enough, the smart alek attendant called the number to verify the lady's placard was valid . That is going to far!!!!! They have no right to treat people rudely and like they want to "catch" you doing something wrong! And when we were talking about them being rude to the point they were running good decent campers off they said "oh well there are people waiting to get your spots". If this is the way the Corp of Engineers deems is ok to run a business then there needs to be a lot of changes made!! You cannot treat people this way!!! I have camped at Holmes Bend for many many years and have never seen it to the point that people are leaving because of attendants rudeness and power trip. I am not a criminal and will not be treated as such! There needs to be something done about these people. I am the first one to say there is a need for rules, but these folks are on a power trip and they are ruining the campground!!!!!!!!!!!!
