The campground is always clean and we enjoy the campsites! We’re never disappointed when camping at Hurricane Creek. The Davis’ who run the campground are always helpful and friendly!

We enjoy our stays at Hurricane Creek. We live in Cadiz, so it is not far to the campground, but it still feels like a needed outdoors getaway. Sunsets are nice over Lake Barkley. We also like the fact that it is much more affordable, as a corps of engineers park, than the nearby Prizer Point campground. The campground is well maintained. Nice playground area for the kids. Boat ramp is located in the campground. Camp host is very cordial. Close to Cadiz, Eddyville, and Grand Rivers if you are looking for additional things to do.

Our site (13) was excellent. The only aspect we did not like is that there are three tent sites very close to site 13 and to access those tent sites people have to walk very close to site 13. Also, if campers had large tents, the view of the lake from site 13 would be obstructed. Fortunately, the two families that tent camped behind our site were easy to work with and caused no problems.

The campground is nice and has excellent views of Barkley Lake. We found the location convenient for exploring The Land Between Lakes in both the north and south direction. We visited the Golden Pond Visitor Center which provided interesting history of the area and Kentucky, the Elk Bison prairie and 1850's Homeplace.
Some of the sites are very close together which isn't apparent on the website, e.g Site 1, 2 and 3 are almost on top of each other. Luckily there were no campers in site 1 or 3. There are some beautiful sites, however.

We enjoyed our stay at Hurricane Creek. It was peaceful, the scenery was beautiful and the camp hosts were friendly and helpful. Because of the pandemic a lot of the National Park attractions were closed. It would be great to visit again even if the attractions aren't open. A great place to camp!
