This was our first time staying at the Narrows but are frequent Barren River Lake campers. We loved the beach area and boat/fishing area. This northern part of the lake had much less lake traffic and was beautifully serene. The negatives were the distance to the water as well as to the limited bathhouses, and also that it was very overgrown and needed a good mow. We assumed due to Covid, landscape crews may be temporarily laid off. All in all, it was a great trip and we will be back soon.

It was hot!!! Other than that we had a great time. Next question asked what carrier I have, I have Bluegrass , that was not an option. Service was good.

We love the Narrows! Nice quiet, smaller campground with nice big sites. The only issue we had on this trip was the inability to purchase firewood and ice, or use the laundry facilities.

It was terribly hot and humid but we love this park and you get this sometimes in July and August. My only "complaint" was that we were there for 11 days and no one every cut the grass...it was quite high. We were invaded by these gnats, don't know if the high grass contributed to that or not.

Was great to finally get to camp. The weather was way too hot, but did enjoy the weekend.

The staff maintains all the facilities in great shape, the grass is well cut, and they constantly patrol the area checking to make sure everyone is happy. The swimming area was nice and was well used. One of our neighbors had an instance of low voltage (the campground was packed and the temps were in the low 90s), and the park manager was at the campsite within a few minutes, calling in park maintenance to fix the problem (a bad circuit breaker) in a very few minutes. The only distraction was the very dense swarms of fungus gnats, brought out by the warm temps and frequent rain. (We were there for 8 days in mid-July)

My site A04 was not very close to level, and was swarming with small flying bugs (I was there in July).

The campsite is not leveled to the point which the tongue of our camper was inches away from the ground. The sewer dumpsite is so inconveniently located. It took me 45 minutes to dump my waste when it usually takes me less than 10 minutes to do so in other sites. The policy of picking up after your pet is not practiced. We have found several dog feces all around. The beach was closed which is understandable considering we are in the middle of a pandemic. The campground attendants are nice.
