Mammoth Cave Campground

We did the Lantern Tour. The guide was an exceptional story teller and was able to bring history to life.

Camped in the Park. Campsite was level and quiet. Bathroom was clean!

Site was on a downhill slope. Wish there was a flatter area to set up the tent.

We were there during a massive rain storm. We saw many people trying to do what they could to keep their tent out of the water on the site. Our site was very muddy (71). Site 70 was nice and dry. We had to pack up the next day with a lot of muddy carpets. If the campground workers made people stay on the pavement like the rules state, it wouldn't be as bad. The worst thing was that most sites were backwards. The camping side was on the wrong side of the trailer. This was a common problem all over the campground. It is very poorly designed.

This was our first time visiting Mammoth Cave NP and it was great. This park has no shortage of things to do, and the campgrounds are located close to the visitor's center. Bathrooms are clean with pay showers and laundry available.

Loved this site except it floods during rain. Park rules not enforced (quiet time, extremely loud generator on site 73, unleashed pets).

The campground was great! The ranger talk was very good - fossils and pseudo fossils, even with some technical difficulties since Kelley wasn’t phased at all. We liked the lighting to the amphitheater and restrooms. There were pay showers and laundry. The sites are separated enough that we didn’t feel too close to our neighbors. The campground is very close to the new Lodge and the Visitor’s Center where the cave tours leave from.

Clean and quiet. The site was rainy and wet, but we managed to figure out a dry spot to setup our small tent. The shower and store facilities were clean and had everything we needed. Including a post office. The shower change machine only took $1 and $5 bills. The park lodge and main building were walking distance away.

I would rate this campground excellent except for the lack of showers. There were showers behind the campers store but were in great need of updating and overall cleanliness. Also these were not free. The coin machines looked to be quite ancient. They did work and the water was warm enough. The bathrooms in the campgrounds were kept very clean while we were there.

The site was a bit muddy (rained a lot). While we cannot control the weather, it would be nice to have landscaping that had better drainage. Lots of puddles and mud. The bathrooms were very clean and lighting to get there was most appreciated. It would have been nice to have showers in the bathroom, rather than having to drive to the entrance in order to shower. I also do not appreciate having to pay extra for the showers.
It was nice to be near enough to walk to the caves and overall we had a great time.

Nice location! Very close to the entrance & the bathrooms are a short walk.
