Mammoth Cave Campground

This is a standard rustic NP campground. Most of the sites are shady and have good separation from the neighbors. The campground is within easy walking distance of several trails, the visitor center, and cave tours. The Cavers Camp store is very close and has unlimited refills on coffee and many items you might want while camping.
One downside - although the bathrooms in the campground have flush toilets and sinks, there are no showers. There are coin operated showers at the Cavers Camp store. They only take quarters - no credit card option. Also, this is a rustic campground - no electricity or water/sewer, so plan accordingly.
If you want firewood, head toward Cave City. There are several options. We found one spot selling it by the wheelbarrow load.

2d weekend at Mammoth Cave Camp ground. We like the layout and privacy of the individual sites. You feel like you are camping in the woods with the convenience of car camping. Even on a packed weekend, it was quiet and relaxing. Lots of trees to keep hot days cool. Only wish their was industrial dishwashing sinks/area.

Surprised at the great campground and excellent cave tour!

I’m writing this review specifically about this campsite. If the map doesn’t make it clear, this spot is right beside a bathroom. Some people like this, others don’t. It was fine, I never noticed people coming or going. The site as a very slight grade to it but is mostly flat. I looked at other sites while I was there and I think it’d be the same elsewhere. This site will work well if you want to put up a hammock. Any of the sites you choose in this loop will be easy to walk to the general store, assuming you don’t have mobility issues to account for. There is a potable water hook up by the general store as well. There might be a hook up closer to the site, but if there was, I overlooked it. Walking to the cave is also very doable from here. It’s close to trails as well and overall just a really nice place to camp. As for the facilities, the bathrooms by the campsite are clean and well-kept. The showers, which are over by the general store are very, very old and coin operated. The water pressure and temperature were fine though. I didn’t use the laundry facility but the prices are very reasonable and the units appear to be average.

We enjoyed the campground and everything was great. The restrooms were clean. I would definitely camp here again

The price is good for what's offered - there are plenty of bathhouses and they are all very clean. The campsites are very big and there is plenty of privacy. The coin showers are fine and a fair price, extra star for the available laundry machines and post office!

The location was incredibly convenient, and these were the nicest campground restrooms we've ever seen.
