Mammoth Cave Campground

Lovely campsite and the park staff were very friendly and accommodating.

There is plenty of room between sites and it is a beautiful , quiet campground. We really enjoyed visiting and hope to be back.

It’s annoying they allow generators to run all day. There’s a quiet time for them but who wants to listen to that all day while trying to enjoy nature.

Great and clean camping spot. No mosquitos all day or night.

We were in site 39, which sits up against the road coming into the park. We didn't have too much road noise, but I can imagine during the summer and busy weekends how there might be noise and headlights shining on your site at night. It was convenient to the bathrooms, without being too close. The kids rode their bikes (our group of friends had ages 5-14) to the camp store and the older ones to the visitor center. Firewood and ice were pricey, just FYI, but convenient to pick up at the camp store. The kids had SO MUCH fun riding bikes and going on the cave tour.

The sites are close together, which for our purposes was Ok (we were tent camping with several friends and had pivoted from a group camp site on the NC border). I think site 38 might have had more privacy (there was an empty field across at least), but I think it might have backed up closer to the road (the road is not actually that close, but you can see headlights at night). We saw lots of deer in the campground and heard coyotes at night! Overall great experience, we would definitely come back and camp again.

This Campground is very close to the visitor center, and right behind the store, so an easy walk to the showers and laundry available at the store. Great location if you are going on one of the cave tours.

Nice campsite with easy access to the amphitheater, though there wasn't a program of any kind the night I was there.

We were expecting to have showers at each campground loop, None... Long walk to campground store, then only 2 showers available for an additional $1.50 for 4 minutes. Interior of campground bathrooms almost needs updating. No electric at campsites either. Disappointing. Our national park here at Sleeping Bear Platte river campground has extremely nice restrooms and showers, free. And 3 of the 4 camping loops have electricity hookups.
I did like the system where it notifies us when there are openings in the tours. We were very surprised to find all tours booked up for the weekend as we had no idea that they have 'fall break" at the schools down there, and it was very busy. It was a beautiful time of year to visit the park, with nice weather too.

Right next door to the caves and visitors center. Excellent place to stay while you’re doing the caves.
