Mammoth Cave Campground

Great campground! Quiet, clean bathrooms. And hot showers. Nice fire ring with grill. Campsites were nicely spaced.

Campground is well managed and clean. Plenty of staff on hand to assist with any emergencies. Great to have running water in the bathrooms. Awesome hiking. Nice to have a nearby restaurant and all the amenities you need to make your stay the best it can be.

We had a one-night stay at Mammoth Campground and found it to be very convenient for accessing nearby and the park, which was a big plus for our trip. The location made it easy to get where we needed to go without a lot of extra driving.
One area for improvement would be clearer signage for campsite assignments—especially for guests arriving after office hours, as it was a bit difficult to identify our spot. It would also be helpful to have access to firewood after hours, perhaps using an honor system for late arrivals.
Overall, a convenient and enjoyable stay with a few opportunities to make the experience even smoother for guests.

Beautiful campground conveniently located to tours and visitors center. Some camp spots were not conducive to back-ins. Table and fire ring were on wrong side but not mentioned on line.

Beautiful campground with Mammoth Cave so close. Self guided Tour of Cave is not recommended. Stick with the guided tours.

After staying here for a few days, I had to move down the road to a commercial RV site. To say the difference was night and day is an understatement. The park was simply perfect. Peaceful and beautiful. I highly recommend staying here if you can. My 25' Airstream fit without issue. Larger rigs may need to pick the site more carefully as they are not large pads and are curved.

Great camp site! Store was close by and our site was even almost right over giants coffin which was cool to see on the tours. No mosquitoes and fairly quiet. Would revisit!

The campground was as expected for a National Park, easy access and beautiful. Only did one cave tour, that was very interesting. Laundry and mail service was a nice addition to find.

We spent 4 days here. Our site 88,Loop C was quite nice but not meant for our camper due to two trees . The site shared that there were trees but not exactly sure how far apart they were. Plus we arrived very late & in the dark. We parked here anyway and were close proximity to the restrooms.
The Rangers especially Ranger Daniel were all very nice as well as the camp store staff. There was also a post office so I was able to mail a few cards.
We left ourselves hooked up and walked to the visitor center and did 2 different yours during our stay. The Historic tour is 2 miles & 500 steps but easy to navigate. I also did the Domes & Dripstones tour - this was more challenging! Narrow passages, ducking & steep inclines and very cool.
Shoutout to Rangers Emily & Sherman and Rangers Kent & Chris. All were passionate and great story tellers. Also worth mentioning is the Green River Grill & Cafe at The Lodge! Food, beverages & Staff were amazing! Shoutouts to Allie, Liz, Debbie, Emma & David! We ate dinner here 3 nights in a row. Try the draft beers: icy cold & flavorful: The Dripstone & Shotgun Wedding plus the Brien bourbon ale. The lemon butter Trout, chicken fried steak & the wings and I ate a baked potato every night. You get biscuits w/huckleberry jam as an appetizer that we saved for dessert, so good. Plus I bought the jam at the gift shop to take home. Shoutout to Cathy at the gift shop especially when I needed Benadryl for my allergies that were in full bloom. Also, they worn about ticks. I found a few in our trailer so you know we brought them in from the outside.
FYI we got help from other fellow campers in backing out of our site.
We enjoyed ourselves enough that we’ll be back!
