Had a great visit. Took a nice hike first day enjoying the impressive trees and geology of the area. Took the Geological Cave Tour second day. The guides were very good and knowledgable.
I also stayed in the campground and found it nice and quiet. They do allow quiet type generators (which I do have one), everyone ran them sparingly and shut off by 8pm. Thank you.

We were located in Campsite 83. We have a 20' travel trailer. There was plenty of pad length for our small trailer and Jeep tow vehicle. Be aware, however, that the pad has a fairly steep front to back slope. We were eventually able to get the trailer level but it required more work. This site is very close to the restroom and water spigot.

Campsites were clean and comfortable. When I am on the road, it isn't always easy to find a place to pitch a tent, so many camping areas are geared toward big campers. Showers were a short distance from the campground and if needed, laundry facilities were also available.
I had a nice, relaxing stay and didn't want to leave.

We did two tours the first one was “Dones and Dripstones” and the other was the “the extended historic tour. They were very different and allowed us to see more of the caves.

Site 51 B is plenty long, but it is very arched, so it's hard to position a longer trailer and to unhitch. The sidewalk to the bathroom leads into the site about 1/3 of the way in, so people will be walking through your site. Fairly level. Some sun to charge solar, but got shady in the afternoon which help keep us cool.

We traveled through Kentucky and this is one of the nicest places we stayed. The cost for the 2 days was actually less than all the other places we stayed at for 1 night. Highly recommend.

- Note: Do not rely exclusively on your mobile GPS, Google Maps or similar automated navigation systems to get to the Mammoth Cave Campground. Routes can be misleading and incorrect.
- Directions from the North: Take Interstate 65 to Exit 53 (Cave City Exit). Turn right onto KY-70. Follow 70/255 as it becomes the Mammoth Cave Parkway in the park. Follow the Mammoth Cave Parkway towards the Visitor Center. Turn left into the campground by the Cavers Camp Store.
- Directions from the South: Take Interstate 65 to Exit 48 (Park City Exit). Turn left onto KY-255 and follow 255 as it becomes the Park City Road into the park. Follow Park City Road until it joins the Mammoth Cave Parkway; turn left. Follow the Mammoth Cave Parkway towards the Visitor Center. Turn left into the campground by the Cavers Camp Store.
The campground is accessible via Interstate 65, with exits at Cave City (Exit 53) and Park City (Exit 48) leading to KY-70 and KY-255, respectively. These highways connect to the Mammoth Cave Parkway, which provides access to the campground.
