Mammoth Cave Campground

Campground was clean and beautiful. Proximity to visitors center was a great bonus.
We did the historic tour. If we had more time I would have done more tours.

Nice level site in a peaceful campground. Easy to walk or drive to the camp store, lodge, and visitor center. The dump/water fill station is behind the store, which is before the check in/registration spot, so it may make sense to fill up with water before you check in. The team member who checked us in when we arrived was friendly and helpful. During our stay, we did some hiking above ground and did both the Historic cave tour and the Domes and Dripstones tour. Both were interesting and well worth it.

Spacious lots. Peaceful. Right next to Mammoth Cave. Has miles of hiking trails around it. Clean restrooms.

I find it interesting when you compare the different caves throughout the USA and the world. The tour was of the cave was very good despite the fact there were 120 people (half from a school). The guide was good and handle the large crowd perfectly. I also did a morning (8:15) free ranger talk. The ranger was VERY knowledgeable about caves. The campground was nice, clean, but no frills. Water was nearby. Not all the sites are flat/level but we managed.

Campground was nice and quiet. Staff very friendly. Showers could be renovated.

Third year staying at campground. Never had any problems in the past. Unfortunately, this time we had two drunk neighbors who caused a noise disturbance up until 1:00AM. I confronted them at 11:30 when they started turning music up. They said that they would quieten down, but continued making noise and slamming there car doors about every 15 minutes up until around 1:00AM.
I attempted to contact the park rangers with every number I could find including the number on the board at the bathhouse, but only got after hours messages. I left a voicemail on a couple of them, but nobody ever got back with me that morning or the next day.
At around 10:30 in the morning I contacted one of the rangers that was working in thge campground. He apoligized for the incident and said that he would get back with me. A short time later he contacted me and said that contact number at the bathhouse had been changed, but apparently not updated on the board. He provided me with the correct after hours number and also advised that there is a phone at the campground kiosk, where we checked in at, that was a direct line for after hours contact.
Fortunately, the disruptive guest left that morning and we had a nice peaceful stay for the remainder of or trip.
This incident was by no means the norm, but it was very irritating. Hopefully the problem has been resolved.
We always have a good time at the campground and will definately be staying again.

The campground and bathroom were very clean and safe. We loved riding our bikes everywhere on the park grounds and campground. The camp store had the missing items we forgot. I was disappointed with the showers, but we were able to shower. I would highly recommend shower shoes. It would be awesome if they put some kind of shelf in there to put you dry clothes or your dry towel on, but at the end of the day it wasn't a deal breaker. We are already planning our next visit. I highly recommend going to visitor center each day and see what activities they are offering that day; they are well worth going too; and very informational.

Great campground. Quiet. Clean bathrooms. Sites in b loop are well spaced out.

Campground seemed well maintained and easy to navigate, but it would have been nice to know that the showers were pay showers before showing up at the bathhouse.

Sites nicely spaced apart, clean toilet facilities. Short walk to the Visitor Center. It was perfect for my stay.
