Don’t pass up a stay at Mammouth Cave NP just because you don’t like caving. The visitor center has a wonderful exhibit describing the extensive cave network in most of Kentucky . There are trails which do allow dogs, and the resort actually has a kennel for those without claustrophobia that do want to go one one of many underground tours available. Pack your change if you are headed for the showers!!! Quarters are needed.

Mammoth Cave was an amazing surprise stop on my trip through Kentucky. The rangers were kind, knowledgeable, and patient. The park was absolutely beautiful and we must do everything we can to support laws to protect our national parks to ensure they will be here for our children and their children.

I only had the opportunity to stay one night at the Mammoth Cave Campground however I was well pleased with my visit. I was using tent equipment for my stay. The site was clean and well taken care of. The bath facilities were as expected however not in disrepair by any means - suitably clean and taken care of. The camp-store had a variety of items including coin operated showers with hot water and laundry services. I will certainly consider staying here additional nights in the future.

It's very hard to see what your campsite will look like by the small thumbnail photo and it turned out ours (51) was in the sun much of the day. Thankfully the temperatures were ok and we brought shade with us. The campground was clean and quiet, and initially we struggled to know where to take our trash when leaving the campsite. The outlet did not work in the bathroom closest to our site, but thankfully we managed to survive without it. There are a LOT of squirrels who do like to raid your camp when you aren't around!

This was a really nice and clean campground. It was well maintained and we enjoyed our time there. Site D110 pavement has a moderate incline for a camper vehicle but the tent area is flat. Site D96 pavement was pretty level. There was a lot of construction going on at the park, but everything was still easy to get to. Would stay here again. The NP staff at the booth was exceptional, especially Tori.

Beautiful place to stay! Campground was shaded and the wildlife was wonderful! the cave experience was definitely something to remember!!

- Note: Do not rely exclusively on your mobile GPS, Google Maps or similar automated navigation systems to get to the Mammoth Cave Campground. Routes can be misleading and incorrect.
- Directions from the North: Take Interstate 65 to Exit 53 (Cave City Exit). Turn right onto KY-70. Follow 70/255 as it becomes the Mammoth Cave Parkway in the park. Follow the Mammoth Cave Parkway towards the Visitor Center. Turn left into the campground by the Cavers Camp Store.
- Directions from the South: Take Interstate 65 to Exit 48 (Park City Exit). Turn left onto KY-255 and follow 255 as it becomes the Park City Road into the park. Follow Park City Road until it joins the Mammoth Cave Parkway; turn left. Follow the Mammoth Cave Parkway towards the Visitor Center. Turn left into the campground by the Cavers Camp Store.
The campground is accessible via Interstate 65, with exits at Cave City (Exit 53) and Park City (Exit 48) leading to KY-70 and KY-255, respectively. These highways connect to the Mammoth Cave Parkway, which provides access to the campground.
