We stayed in July and had an absolute amazing time. The campgrounds were very clean, the attendants were nice and we only had a short walk to the visitor center to avoid having to fight parking. The camp store sold anything we needed and the cashier was wonderful. Our site was directly across from the bathroom and water spigot making it super convenient. Overall great site and would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at Mammoth caves immensely. We had the historic tour booked and was led by the incredibly knowledgeable Ranger Alex. He was very insightful on the geology and history of the cave systems. The campsite was fine aside from no utilities. Our RV had ample water and electricity supplied by generator. We look forward to our next trip to Mammoth caves.

Great campground! Clean bathrooms and shower house, great campsites, and super friendly and knowledgeable staff at the visitor center and camp general store. This is the second time I’ve visited and I’m looking forward to coming back again!

I haven’t been camping in about 25 years, and was nervous that I wouldn’t like it anymore. This campsite extinguished my fears and actually made me want to camp the rest of my vacation! Great, friendly way to camp, and it has flushing toilets and showers nearby!

Great campground that balances privacy with convenience. All sites are paved well and fairly level. Site 83 was spacious and had a good stretch of woods without neighbors. Having a camp store, laundry, trails, and bathrooms nearby made this campground an overall hit in the midst of our long journey. The amphitheater is at the end of a beautiful little boardwalk trails and my family enjoyed the ranger's show on nightbirds of the area.

Nice and clean campground, but there were no free showers. They only had coin showers available. I've been to less expensive state and private campgrounds with free showers included in the nightly fee. Also, the cave was beautiful, however the self-guided tour is a bit pricey for what you get: a super short walk into the cave. I recommend selecting other tours which will take you through more parts or the cave or give you more to experience than a few pretty photo ops.

Directions from the North: Take Interstate 65 to Exit 53 (Cave City Exit). Turn right onto KY-70. Follow 70/255 as it becomes the Mammoth Cave Parkway in the park. Follow the Mammoth Cave Parkway towards the Visitor Center. Turn left into the campground by the Cavers Camp Store.
Directions from the South: Take Interstate 65 to Exit 48 (Park City Exit). Turn left onto KY-255 and follow 255 as it becomes the Park City Road into the park. Follow Park City Road until it joins the Mammoth Cave Parkway; turn left. Follow the Mammoth Cave Parkway towards the Visitor Center. Turn left into the campground by the Cavers Camp Store.
The campground is accessible via Interstate 65, with exits at Cave City (Exit 53) and Park City (Exit 48) leading to KY-70 and KY-255, respectively. These highways connect to the Mammoth Cave Parkway, which provides access to the campground.
