Mammoth Cave Campground

I had a wonderful stay!

excellent campground! paid showers at the camp store. Loved that it’s walking distance to the visitors center and tons of trails.

There were pluses and minuses: Plus: clean restrooms and access to showers that were clean was a bonus. It was convenient to walk to the visitors center and do tours without driving. Negatives: Our site was sloped and not the original one we booked. We were not told why until bringing it up to the camp host.. (I guess they were taking down a tree in the morning before our arrival). It would have been nice to get to "choose from open spots rather than an assigned one that was bisected by two roads near the entrance. The other negative: no dishwashing place and had to use the toilet to discard dishwater. Suggestions: have a dishwashing station, and perhaps have a critter cabinet at the tent sites....Due to raccoons, we had to pack all materials in the car and discard trash daily and nightly, anytime when leaving the site.

We stayed in loop C. Very clean campsite. Good space between sites. The bathroom was clean and had A/C, which was a nice surprise. No showers in the bathroom, but they are close. The store and visitors center with food options and even a pub was an easy walk from the campsite. All in all, it was a great experience.

Campground is well cared for and a easy walk to the visitor center.

Nice and clean campground, but there were no free showers. They only had coin showers available. I've been to less expensive state and private campgrounds with free showers included in the nightly fee. Also, the cave was beautiful, however the self-guided tour is a bit pricey for what you get: a super short walk into the cave. I recommend selecting other tours which will take you through more parts or the cave or give you more to experience than a few pretty photo ops.

Great campground that balances privacy with convenience. All sites are paved well and fairly level. Site 83 was spacious and had a good stretch of woods without neighbors. Having a camp store, laundry, trails, and bathrooms nearby made this campground an overall hit in the midst of our long journey. The amphitheater is at the end of a beautiful little boardwalk trails and my family enjoyed the ranger's show on nightbirds of the area.

Was at group Site 1, close proximity to the bathrooms, and water, I have t-mobile and did not have service. but was good.

I haven’t been camping in about 25 years, and was nervous that I wouldn’t like it anymore. This campsite extinguished my fears and actually made me want to camp the rest of my vacation! Great, friendly way to camp, and it has flushing toilets and showers nearby!
