We were celebrating my daughter’s bridal shower and the mammoth cave national park picnic shelter was such a beautiful and well maintained facility that absolutely made it a very special event. Thank you to everyone who works hard to make the national parks such a treasure!

This shelter is not labeled with a number. This shelter has good parking around it. However on a saturday in June the parking filled up all around it. There is no reserved parking for this shelter . It has a nearby bathroom facility. Upon arrival it was vague on where to check in for the shelter. The shelter was not cleaned before arrival. I had to wipe down the tables. Some tables had large amounts of chalk drawings on them. I’d recommend brining table clothes. When it rained it kept us dry and protected. Our group had good time using the shelter.

The enclosed shelter was a great experience for our elderly. They had the option to sit outside if the shelter got too cool. The self guided cave tour was great, it gave us time to do our activities where we didn't have to rush to do the cave tour. Great for church picnic.
