Maple Springs is a lovely campground with just 7 level sites available - some with water and electric. In this group campground there is plenty of room for several vehicles, tents, campers/rvs. It was generally quiet, There are pit toilets. NO showers. NO dump site.
To access the Mammoth Cave Visitor Center and cave tour starts from this campground one needs to drive and take a ferry over the river. BUT RVs and trailers can not go on the ferry. This means a 40 minute drive from the campsite around the west side of the park to the visitor center, camp store, dump station, and tour departure site.

The best part of our camping experience was the distance between campsites. Plenty of space between other campers. Its a secluded campground with only 7 sites, so no traffic unless you are camping there. We were there with a group and had campsites 001, 003, and 005 rented and could have had up to 24 people per campsites, which was fun
Negatives: there is NO dumping station for campers, there is NO shower house, there were multiple areas with steel rods sporadically sticking up out of the ground(i assume where Picknick tables used to be). This was very dangerous, especially at night as there are no lights whatsoever on the whole campground and none of these areas were markered. The breaker kept tripping on the electrical box. Campsites 001 does not have its own breaker box so when the electric went out we were without power overnight because no one would answer the number listed for campground despite multiple messages left.
Despite multiple negatives I would stay here again as a group.

- Directions from the North: Take Interstate 65 to Exit 53 (Cave City Exit). Turn right onto KY-70. Follow 70/255 as it becomes the Mammoth Cave Parkway in the park. Follow the Mammoth Cave Parkway towards the Visitor Center. Turn left on the Green River Ferry Road. Cross the ferry and follow the signs to Maple Springs. Turn left onto Maple Springs Loop. Maple Spring Campground will be on the left. For trailers or large vehicles, use alternate directions. Vehicles boarding the ferry must not exceed 8 tons and have a length no more than 16 feet.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Site types & loops
- Sites 1-4 have electric and water, and are recommended for equestrian use with a tie-up area. No sewer or dump station available.
- Sites 1-4 are recommended for equestrians with electric and water; vault toilets are available. No sewer or dump station.
Vehicles & parking
- Green River Ferry is closed; alternate route takes 45 minutes. Ferry operates limited hours. RVs cannot use the ferry.
- Ferry is subject to last minute closures; RVs cannot board. Call for operational status. Ferry hours are 6am-6pm.
