Axtel Campground is highly praised for its friendly staff, well-maintained sites, and beautiful waterfront views, making it a favorite destination for camping enthusiasts. Visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, ample space, and facilities like free WiFi, although some restrooms and showers have reported issues, such as lack of soap and water pressure. Overall, campers have had positive experiences and look forward to returning, despite some minor maintenance concerns.

We love Axtel Campground for our camping at Rough River. We travel to lots of different lakes in Kentucky and Axtel Campground is our top campground for KY. Bathrooms are always clean and stocked. The sites are roomy and if your reserve early you can get lakeside site. Or you can get a site with shade. Just keep up the good work and keep up the maintenance. It's a great campground. The only thing I would recommend is to put in a basketball goal.
