The last two times we camped at Laurel branch my husband HAD to clean out the fire pits. Past campers left food, cans , trash it was gross. He Even did neighboring site because we knew the couple coming. Large groups of Hispanic people launching their jet skis right from waterfront campsites that was not theirs, closed from flooding, video was given to park ranger. Another group, of people swimming and drinking alcoholic drinks. On a good note, Ken the camp host has been the nicest one we’ve had anywhere. He has been very attentive helping us when needed.

The sites were nice but the fire rings are in a spot where we couldn’t get everyone around due to the hill at the back and it wasn’t cleaned out with a lot of cigarette butts lying all around it.

The Corp of Engineers needs to operate the facility with full time employees. Using volunteers is unacceptable and the camping experience is not what it was before they started using Volunteers.

I love camping at Laurel Branch. The only downside this time was having to move five days into our vacation. It wasn’t anyone’s fault because the water was high.
