We stopped through for a single night while traveling through the area. We had a spot right on the water but many, if not most, of the spots were either on the water on a short walk to the water.
We had a spot right next to another spot and our neighbors were very nice and welcoming as were the park hosts.
The view was fantastic and the spot was easy to get our little tear drop camper into. The facilities were all clean and easily accessible.

Everything good, would like to see steps from the bathroom down toward sites 109---106. When the ground is wet from rain very slippery and dangerous to walk.

We always love our trips to Axtel Rough River, the sites are really good all of them but we prefer the ones on the lake front. The host are super nice Don and Joann. If there's one thing to complain about it would be the washhouses, they need to be repainted, they try to clean them but still needs to look better some TLC. We have been camping at Rough River over 26 years and will continue to do so.
