The woman at the front desk was incredibly rude throughout our entire stay. We have stayed here (at the same 3-4 sites) for five years. Last year was the first time we encountered her and she was very rude then, but we thought maybe she was having a rough weekend. During that stay, she called the park ranger because she did not like where our boat was parked. The park ranger let us know we could park in our site (which she said we could not) as long as she was out of the grass which we could be. The ranger also gave us the name of someone to complain to, but we never did thinking maybe she was just having a bad weekend. This year it started the same way. She told us we shouldn’t park at our campsite, but from the previous experience I specified that we could as long as we were out of the grass. She said we shouldn’t at that site, but could. A friend who was camping in a site beside us wanted to go to the water with us, but is handicap. She inquired about parking closer due to this and she told her there was only one handicap spot and it was full. She asked if she could park near boat parking or the bathrooms (it was a Sunday afternoon so it was pretty empty) and the woman asked her “why she needed to go to the beach if she’s handicap?”
She was starting at us an hour before check out and allowed the next people to pull into our spot (while we were still sitting at the picnic table) thirty minutes before it was checkout time.
The campground also rarely has soap in the bathrooms.
We love the place and would continue coming here for year as it’s became our camping spot for our entire family, but we have decided we will try other places until she moves on. The gentleman with her is much nicer. It’s just really sad.

Best campground to stay at when visiting Rough River. The Park Attendants are so friendly, that we look forward to seeing them each time we visit.
