Axtel Campground is highly praised for its friendly staff, well-maintained sites, and beautiful waterfront views, making it a favorite destination for camping enthusiasts. Visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, ample space, and facilities like free WiFi, although some restrooms and showers have reported issues, such as lack of soap and water pressure. Overall, campers have had positive experiences and look forward to returning, despite some minor maintenance concerns.

Site was great relatively decent shade, not too far from the restrooms. The showers did not work which was a problem.

Bathhouse for E area didnt have any hot water in the showers and showers are in very bad condition. Park personnel ( Guy with a big white white beard and flags on his cart ) was VERY Creepy. Kept staring all the time and on the departure date, we fell asleep around 2 pm. Vas very demanding we left and wouldnt move, making my wife Very uncomfortable. I know check out is at 3PM but he was told we will start packing asap and, there was no one that reserved That site, E86. Tried calling the number on the reservation and Lady that answered the phone, I believe it was one of the park rangers, didn't seam to care and wanted us out asap to the point I booked another day at the same spot just to get them off my back. 15 minutes later they came Again to make sure we are leaving, this time 2 park Rangers. What am I missing here? I understand the rules and also leave the site in immaculate shape so whats the rush. This used to be our favorite site every year but It definitely isnt anymore.

A lot of great sites with variety at this campground. Some sites in full sun, close to the water and others with some nice shade if that's what you want.

Take hands soap to the bathroom there’s none in there. Other than that it’s an amazing place to stay.
