It is a very nice camp ground. It was very peaceful and the boat ramp was right across the road. The bathrooms and showers were clean. I will definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at Axtel very much. It was very quiet and we appreciated the water connection at the site with electricity only. Unfortunately the lake in front of the site was extremely dry. So don’t plan on doing water activities. Also finding the park was a bit confusing due to AXtel not having much signage in front of it. We thought is was a private campground with boat docks and such. Also we were under the impression that it was close to mammoth caves and it is not..just a fyi

The bathhouse had a stopped drain, sinks were not working and very old showers. They needed to be cleaned more often, especially on weekends when campground is full. The gate to the entrance was always open even though we had a gate code.
