What Guests Are Saying
Axtel campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Vickie, who ensures a pleasant experience for visitors. Many families enjoy the quiet atmosphere, spacious campsites with easy access to water activities, and a welcoming community of fellow campers. However, some guests noted issues such as low water levels, closed restrooms, and occasional noise, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences reported.

Very clean park. Restrooms and shower facility was clean. Camping sites are gravel with some trees for shade. Lake is in view from most camping sites. Small village or town close by for food or necessities.

We had a terrific view of the lake. However the pics of our site showed several shade trees and when we arrived, the trees had been cut down. We found a lot of garbage in and around our site and literally handfuls of nails, screws etc around the fire pit area. We don’t mind rain when camping as we will sit under the canopy but once the rains started, our camp site flooded putting the fire pit in about 6 inches of water and totally extinguishing the fire. The people across from us actually got a flat tire in their RV upon backing in from some sort of stake/nail.

Jo and her husband are excellent camp hosts. They are attentive and visible at all times and are seen throughout the campground. The campground is safe and is great for families. The Breckinridge County Sheriff even visits the campground.

Staff was helpful - they came around the sites to warn of a potential storm. The sites are large and well kept.

Very nice campground. All utilities worked fine. Restrooms did get a little messy late in the day but campground was very busy. Would stay again

Perfect campsite, clean restrooms, access to the beach and a park for the kids. Dollar store and plenty if gas stations near by for all the little things you forget to bring.
