I've camped at Axtel once before back in April 2021, and my visit was fine. This past visit was fine, except for my campsite was more difficult to back into (C044), because the next campsite had their boat in the grass on the other side of the road and their second vehicle blocking a bit of my campsite access. They did move the second vehicle to make it easier to back into (I was by myself). Since I'm a retired tractor trailer driver, I managed to back my camper into my site. The same camping neighbor and his family was constantly cutting through my campsite to get to their buddy's campsite on the other side of the lake's "V" cut. I don't know why they couldn't plan their camping so that they were camping side by side, instead of constantly cutting through my campsite (good thing I decided not to fish). Then there is almost a constant parade of gasoline and electric golf carts, and gasoline powered scooters at all hours of the day and night. There was less traffic on the highway that the campground is located on. It seemed to be nothing but "joyriding" around the campground, with no particular purpose. Don't people walk anymore? It might do a lot of people good to walk more. I do walk around, though my walking can be difficult at times due to my back issues. I wish I could walk more. I wish there were no golf carts or scooters allowed unless medically necessary. Maybe ride more bicycles, tricycles, skates, and skateboards, et. al.? The campground hosts were very helpful and nice though. I never used the shower/bathhouses, so I can not comment on them. Extra dumping capacities would be nice. There was a long line waiting on the Sunday morning I left, the line was almost impeding traffic and campground access. I just ended up dumping and rinsing at home.
