What Guests Are Saying
Axtel campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Vickie, who ensures a pleasant experience for visitors. Many families enjoy the quiet atmosphere, spacious campsites with easy access to water activities, and a welcoming community of fellow campers. However, some guests noted issues such as low water levels, closed restrooms, and occasional noise, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences reported.

Beach was closed because of high water but it was still a great trip. Fishing was great.

We had a wonderful time even though the water was high and they had to close parts of the campground it was still a wonderful week. The Park host was so nice and the park rangers were making sure everything was good. Thank you John

Loved our 3 days at Axtel. It's a short drive for us. Our RV spot looked just like the picture. Bathrooms nice and clean! My kids loved walking to the playground and a huge plus to be able to see them from our spot. Definitely cant wait to go back!

The shower house was closed for 2 days. Also, a second shower house was removed a couple years ago and never replace. There needs to be a restroom facility put back where the one was removed. Too long of a walk for those on that area.

We camped on E062 at Axtel as much as we can. We had no internet, we stayed form Sun 10/20/ home on Thurs 10/24/24. They were finally fixing the problem the day we had to leave. This site is by the wash house and of course an easy fix, I reported it on Monday to the host and to the core. I would also add we have camped at Axtel over 30 yrs these showers houses need some TLC it is embarrassing to bring our out of state guests to this beautiful state of Ky to such a nasty placed. I've brought the subject up before..... I also know money is tight but we need this for our tourism.

Campsites were decorated up for the Halloween weekend and had trick or treat on Saturday evening. We always enjoy our visit to Axtel campground.

The campground spot was beautiful. Maintenance was lacking look like the only thing they did was mow and made sure there was toilet paper. Area was pretty!
