Really enjoyed site 31, which is overlooking the boat ramp. There's always interesting activity going on. Love it!!

Laurel Branch is a great place to just camp OR it is situated on Rough River Lake and has a boat ramp on site, a fishing dock and a fantastic little beach that is very clean and well kept. The campground is in great repair and is very well maintained by the Core of Engineers. The campground host is Angie and she is AMAZING. I called last week to check if our site was available for a possible early check in and she said she was just getting ready to call me and let me know they were paving the roads and this would affect my travel depending on the direction I was coming. Angie is so fantastic and really looks out for her guests (take the time to say hi to her, she will remember you). The sites are well maintained as well as the road and bath houses and they have coded doors so only campers can utilize them (which helps with keeping them well maintained and clean). We camp here and at Axtel and they are both GREAT facilities. Quiet hours are well observed and the we see the Ranger on every visit (usually Adam, but depends who is on duty). Highly recommend Laurel Branch Campground, we camp here often!

It is a very nice camp ground, less boat traffic and they have their own beach. The bathrooms are not very good however.

The party that had the site before us left dry cat food scattered around the site. We had to fight off flies because of the cat food. Site was level and shady with a good view of the lake.
