Get a spot next to the water so that you can walk down and swim. The beach was absolutely packed

I love this campground because it’s wooded, it’s next to water, and the sites are not right on top of each other (most). The roads are wider than some other campgrounds and are in pretty good shape. Most sites are pretty level, too. Most electric sites do not have water hookups. They do have potable water available to fill your freshwater tank.

Positives- Campsites clean, staff friendly, easy lake access, beautiful area.
Negatives- campsite’s can be difficult to back into, due to the angle and width of the roadway. If they would widen and level the approach or change the angle it would be better for all. I saw several people including myself drag their steps on the Asphalt trying to get in and most were off the road in the ditch in section A.
The other frustrating issue was we waited in line to check in witch is understandable, but when you left the area and came back they would have you wait again instead of opening up the right lane at the guardhouse for everyone with a pass. Instead they blocked it with cones? They should leave the lane open, put up a stop sign and when they see the person show the pass, then flag the person through instead of getting in line with everyone checking in.

Level and shady spot for our camper van is really appreciated. The campground was pretty full but distance between spots was enough that we never felt crowded. This is a great campground for visits to Morehead where we visited the Kentucky Folk Art Center.

Campground was clean and quiet. Morehead KY is a nice town with the university and several local restaurants.

We stop every year at Twin Knobs campground while travelling through Kentucky. I make reservations to endure a spot and the process is very easy. The campground is wonderful with a lot of trees and green space. The electric power is always good, no low voltage issues or plug in problems.
