It's a beautiful area but the campground is rundown and not well maintained.

This is our favorite close to home camp ground. Staff is amazing and the loop host are awesome. It’s kept very clean and quiet time is always just that!

We love Twin Knobs Campground. You can't beat the well-maintained campsites, level sites, graveled areas, and plenty of shade. We stayed for 5 nights, and it rained for 4, and we didn't have a muddy mess to deal with when packing up due to their maintenance of the sites.

Our camp host were exceptionally helpful. We were in J Loop. The bathrooms were very clean . You had an option of a private bathroom with shower. The campground is mostly wooded. Some of the amenities were closed due to lake being level high you might want to check out if that's important to you to be able to go to the beach. That is beyond the campgrounds control. The only issue I had there were campers That had six little barking dogs that could be heard over the entire loop. I think something should've been done about that. It made the experience unpleasant when I was at my campsite and not on the water. But overall it's a great Campground and the crew there are very helpful and very good people to deal with.

We had a great time, the park is very clean well taken care of. My only complaint is that the vista employees have zero people skills. If you do anything they don’t like they will come scream at you instead of just having a conversation. Other than that we had a great time!

Campground is very shaded with good spacing between sites. Good interior paved roads with good electrical hookups. No water or sewer at any site. However be cautious when on the lake!! Many areas along the shore line or up most coves off the main body of the lake were not clear cut when the dam was built. Now there are many large trees just under water level with no buoys or marking to show where they are. Many boats sustain damage when negotiating certain areas of the lake. Also with no water patrol after 5:00 the jet skis and kayaks are everywhere after sunset. Bow hunters with extremely bright yellow lights on front of their boat will come at you with blinding intensity. Overall this is a beautiful lake but a very heavily used facility especially on weekends! Theft in the area is also a problem. Parking at most boat ramp parking lots can be very disappointing when you come back in to find tires, catalytic converters, gasoline or other items missing from your tow vehicle. We have used this campground since it opened in the 70's and had many great times. However crowding with little law enforcement has now made the area a concern. Rowan county in general may have theft issues!
