Twin knobs is always our favorite campground. The repaving will make a great improvement so it wasn’t too inconvenient. There was a lot of poison ivy along the trails though. That made hiking risky. We love the sites and beautiful lake!

Very peaceful. Loved that this site was right in the water. Lots of shade, nice level gravel pad made setup a breeze. Only dropped a star because you couldn't really see the lake from the campsite and the path to the water was way overgrown. Would've loved to be able to put our kayaks in from the site, but there was no way to get them to the water. Overall, it's a great site and we'll definitely be back.

Noticed the campground was not run by thousand trails. It is now run by vista recreation , overall great experience, been camping here for over 20 years , one thing that always stood out was how clean the restrooms were kept. Not so much this time. Personnel was friendly. Just suggest they step up on their cleaning game .

Host must of had 3 tent types building set up plus a boat and two vehicles on lot

Our recent camping experience at Twin Knobs Campground was an absolute delight. The serene and well-maintained campground provided the perfect backdrop for a remarkable outdoor adventure.
We throughly enjoyed boating on Cave Run Lake. The campground’s convenient access to the lake made it easy for us to embark on boating adventures. Twin Knobs Campground is a haven for nature enthusiasts and avid hikers. We explored the scenic trails surrounding the campground. We had a blast playing basketball. Of course, no camping trip is complete without the time-honored tradition of gathering around a camp fire. We cherished our evenings roasting marshmallows and indulging in s’mores, storytelling, lots of laughter and charades. It was the perfect way to unwind.
The overall facilities at Twin Knobs Campground were excellent. The campground provided well-maintained campsites, clean restroom facilities, and friendly staff who were always ready to assist with any inquiries or concerns.
We felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay, which further enhanced our camping experience. We can’t wait to return and create even more cherished memories in this natural paradise.

Well kept campground! Sites have lots of room and are very accommodating. Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy access to lakeside through trails. Would definitely return for another stay.

right at the top of the exit ramp to proceed south on KY-801.
Proceed 8.4 miles on 801. The campground entrance is on the
right.
