About Baileys Point

Bailey's Point campground is the largest of the Army Corps of Engineers' campgrounds on Barren River Lake. This campground offers several waterfront campsites with scenic views of the lake. Though the campground is one of the largest, you won't know it. There is room to roam, five camping loops with diverse scenery, and private coves for swimming or mooring your boat. Nice campground this is the only place we stay. A section Jackie and Becky are the host in this area. Great Prople keeps people on line. See that no noise rules are obeyed at cerfew time. Love this place. Booked in August and September already

Quite a few campsites need their ID numbers replaced, a lot are missing. Overall the facilities are very clean and kept up.

The bathroom/shower house was a mess in area A. They supposedly clean it but just washed it down with water hose and left toilet tissue on the floors around the drains and it was disgusting. They finally came back after we called and complained and did a fairly decent job.

Stayed in spot A5 which is the ADA campsite very close to restrooms. This spot is level and paved. There is shade much of day and more so in the PM. This site is not on the water. Internet on T Mobile and Verizon was weak. No OTA TV and the little store and washer and dryer were locked up and never opened. It is a fairly long drive into this facility. A General Dollar store is about 7-8 miles away. Scottsville, about twice as far.

E19 was a pretty good site however not very level. We had to make adjustments. . It was right on the water which was perfect! This is a quiet, shaded campground so that’s nice. All in all, this is one of our favorites.

The sites were big and not to close together. The bathhouse was a bit of a walk in loop D. The big swarm was not lovely. It was especially yucky to see hundreds of bugs in the bathroom the next morning. They did put in a new shower head and my daughter said that was great. A long way off the road for a pass through stay. Better to stay at least a couple of days. Great for boaters.

Policies & Rules

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
